The "Base Camp" marking (also known as the Main Base Camp 17,000 ft marking) from the 1924 British Mt. Everest expedition (EV24-M2) was always associated with a secondary marking. The most common secondary marking is the Tibet marking (EV24-M1). Similar to the Tibet marking, this marking was used exclusivley while the expedition was in Tibet. The earliest known use (EKU) is on a cover mailed by Francis Helps to to Chris Russell in Lowesoft, Englang on July 4, 1924 from Yatung, Tibet (EV24-M1-M2_007). The use of the Base Camp marking is the rarest of the 1924 Everest markings. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
