Cover to addressed Gyangtse, Tibet with single KGV 1a India stamp tied by PHARIJONG cancel (Hel B17) dated 28 June 24. Cover bears a single expedition label tied by the M4 expedition mark. There is also a Tibet stamp (SC2) tied by a Tibetan cancel (Hel T34) (most likely for philatelic purposes). The reverse shows a GYANTSE / TIBET receiving mark dated 3 Jul 24 (Hel B48) and a Tibetan receiving mark (Hel T3). On "Mount Everest Expedition 1924" stationary.

The following is an excerpt from the NTPSC forum from Brian Smith - "This cover from the 1924 British Mt Everest Expedition was sent by runner to Pharijong and then forwarded to Gyantse. It is addressed to Capt.Nevill (Assam Political Officer), who was accompanied by Major F.M.Bailey and Medical Officer Major Hislop. These three were travelling to Gyantse and arrived there on on 3 July 1924 (the same date as this cover was received in Gyantse). Bailey was on his way to visit the Dalai Lama in Lhasa to discuss the Mt Everest Expedition and other matters with him."
